Most Broadcast Australian Country Music Recording Artist Awards 2002
On Monday, 15 September, the PPCA once again presented the PPCA Most Broadcast Australian Country Music Recording Artist Award.
This PPCA Award was first presented six years ago and has now become an annual, and much anticipated, highlight of the annual CMAA Awards agenda. Previous winners include Gina Jeffreys
and Lee Kernaghan.
The presentation was incorporated into the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) Achievers' Awards, and PPCA acknowledges the CMAA for providing PPCA with the platform for presenting this award which recognises outstanding broadcasting achievement over the previous year for both the artist and their record label. It demonstrates who received the most airplay of any country recording artist.
The recipient for the 2002 award was Kasey Chambers and her record label EMI Music Australia . Kasey has certainly taken country music to a wider audience and intersected the country and pop markets.
The Award was presented to Kasey and EMI Music by PPCA's Chairman, Shaun James.
PPCA congratulates Kasey together with John O'Donnell and all at EMI Music on this achievement.
