Registering for the first time?

To register as an Australian recording artist for payments under the our Artist Direct Distribution Scheme, you’ll need to fill out and a couple of forms:

  1. the Artist Tax Form (optional).

Before filling out these forms, we suggest that you take a look at the sample forms available in the forms section of this website – they’ll make things much easier. We also recommend that you read the eligibility details at the bottom of the Recording Details Form.

Remember, distributions are made annually and no funds are held in reserve for artists who haven’t registered yet. If you want to be included in this year’s round of royalty payments, you need to be registered by 30 September.

You should also talk to your record company about how payments that you both receive under the scheme are affected by your particular recording agreement. Usually, these payments will be taken into account in determining your entitlement to 'Miscellaneous Income' under your agreement.

If you're an independent artists who only has a distribution deal with a record company then you need to register as a licensor.

If you have any queries, our extensive list of Frequently Asked Questions (Artists FAQ) is a great place to start.

If you’re already a registered artist and you’d like to change your details or add any new recordings, go to Existing Artists.
