PPCA CONGRATULATES THE AMP 2006 WINNER AUGIE MARCH

The Chairman and Board of PPCA extend their congratulations to Melbourne’s AUGIE MARCH, who last night were declared winner of The Amp 2006.

Augie March’s album, “Moo, You Bloody Choir” was recognised by the Amp Awards judging panel for its musical excellence and outstanding creativity, ensuring they received the $25,000 cash prize provided by PPCA.

PPCA has partnered with The Australian Music Prize since its inception in 2005, a strong indication of PPCA’s commitment to the Australian artistic community.

Mr John O’Donnell, Chairman of PPCA and Managing Director, EMI Music Australia, said today “Augie March's genius album 'Moo, You Bloody Choir' is a totally deserving winner of the 2006 AMP Award and PPCA is proud and honoured to present the band with the $25,000 prize. This award is designed to acknowledge and reward artistic excellence and so I can think of no more fitting winner this year than Augie March. Saul Bellow would be proud of them."
